Hey, I’m Bailey Ahrens, the marketing intern at Speedscale, and I’m stoked to be heading to API World this year. For me, it’s more than just a conference; it’s a chance to dive into one of the coolest events in tech. It’s an opportunity to learn from the best, see the latest innovations, and connect with the people building the future.
This will also be my first time flying across the country for work, which makes it even more exciting. Before this event, I have been helping behind the scenes to design the backdrops and finalize the t-shirt designs (thanks to everyone who voted on LinkedIn). I’m looking forward to finally seeing those designs in action.
My Learning Agenda: From Market Insight to Personal Growth
I’m heading into the conference with a mix of goals for Speedscale and for my own growth. API World is packed with sessions, but I’ve picked out a handful that I think will really help me understand the challenges our audience is facing. I’m especially looking forward to Hiring for AI Success, Powering AI Agents with APIs, and the various keynote speeches.
Sharpening My Marketing Skills
As a marketer, one of my biggest takeaways from conferences is seeing how other companies communicate their value. I’ll be paying attention to how people present their products, the messages that resonate with engineers, and the strategies that grab attention. The conference will be packed with insights about where the industry is headed, so I’ll be taking notes on those as well. I am looking forward to growing my marketing skills and learning from other individuals.
Practicing Professionalism
Another big part of this trip for me is personal growth. Being surrounded by thousands of industry experts is a chance to practice my communication skills, whether that’s jumping into a Q&A, introducing myself during a networking event, or just having casual conversations. I want to come back from Santa Clara more confident in explaining complex ideas clearly and building real connections with people in our space.
Proxymock: The Solution to a Universal Problem
While my learning is a big part of this trip, my main mission is to showcase our software: Proxymock. I believe in our product, and I want to share how it solves major problems for developers and engineering teams. The problem with AI-generated code is that it frequently has errors. The engineers have to spend large amounts of time trying to manually review the code. With proxymock, the AI is able to validate new code with a simulation of the production environment and discover its own bugs. One of our recent customers shared they have saved 17 hours reproducing a bug with proxymock locally on their own machine.
Check out some blogs from our team here:
Proxymock quickly creates isolation environments filled with realistic tests and mocks from production environments. Build confidence in your AI-generated code by running it in a deterministic testing sandbox. It captures real API interactions from production environments with zero code changes. Record once, replay anywhere. Proxymock also enables seamless integration with your existing CI/CD pipelines, supporting GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and more.
APIs in the Age of AI
APIs and AI development are the big themes at this year’s API World, which is titled “APIs in the Age of AI,” and I’m interested in that. I’ll be attending sessions to see how APIs are being used as the backbone for modern AI applications. This is especially relevant to us, as the rise of AI-driven services means the need for reliable, testable APIs is more critical than ever. I want to learn how we can position Proxymock to help developers build and test the APIs that will power the next generation of AI tools so their systems are robust and secure from the start.
Innovation and Inspiration
I’m also looking forward to the API Awards. These awards recognize the best and most innovative technologies in the industry, and it’s great to see so many amazing companies pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. While I’m there I’ll be observing the award winners and nominees and trying to understand what makes their products stand out. That will be super valuable as we continue to evolve Proxymock and build a world-class solution for developers everywhere. Who knows maybe one day we’ll be among the nominees!
Connection
The conference experience isn’t just about the sessions and the expo floor; it’s about the people. I’m especially looking forward to the various networking opportunities, from the roundtables and workshops to the casual chats in the lounges. I believe some of the best insights come from casual conversations and unexpected connections. I want to hear about the challenges people are facing, the innovative ways they’re solving them and what their day-to-day looks like. That will not only expand my network but also give me a broader perspective on the industry, which is a huge asset for any marketer.
If you’re at API World, please come say hi at the Speedscale booth, number 402. I’d love to chat, hear about what you’re working on, and show you a demo of Proxymock. We will also have some pretty neat vibe coding shirts. Let’s connect and learn from each other!
